At the coming moment, Tube China will be held in Shanghai China from 14th -16th June 2023, This is the first large-scale pipe fair after 3 years of COVID-19, and it will be a good business gathering.  

The 10th China International Tube Exhibition (Tube China) was successfully concluded in Shanghai New International Expo Center on June 16 with the care and support of all walks of people.

Straight seam welded steel pipes are divided into high frequency resistance welding and submerged arc welding according to the welding process. Straight seam submerged arc welding is referred to as LSAW, and longitudinal high frequency resistance welding is referred to as ERW.Compared with submerged arc welding, high frequency electric resistance welded steel pipes (ERW steel pipes) do not add any welding materials during the welding process in the ERW process, and the weld formation does not undergo a thermal melting state, but the weld metal undergoes a recrystallization process. Therefore, the formed weld seam is completely consistent with the chemical composition of the base metal. After the steel pipe is welded, it is annealed to produce the cold working internal stress and welding internal stress. Therefore, the comprehensive mechanical properties of the ERW steel pipe are better.

LSAW steel pipe is a welded pipe produced by pressing (rolling) the steel plate into a tube blank in a mold or a forming machine, and using a double-sided submerged arc welding method and expanding the diameter. The finished product has a wide range of specifications, good toughness, plasticity, uniformity and compactness of the weld, and has the advantages of large pipe diameter, pipe wall thickness, high pressure resistance, low temperature resistance and strong corrosion resistance.LSAW steel pipe expansion is a pressure processing process that uses hydraulic or mechanical means to apply force from the inner wall of the steel pipe to expand the steel pipe radially outward. The mechanical method is simpler and more efficient than the hydraulic method, and the steel pipe machining is more accurate under the condition of high precision.The expansion process of LSAW steel pipe is divided into mechanical expansion and hydraulic expansion.

Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welding pipe(abbreviated as LSAW pipe). Steel tube (and Steel Pipe) has evolved over history. Specifically, metal tube has been around since around 3000 BC. In fact, Egyptians made the first metal pipe from copper.As Early as 2500 BC Chinese used bamboo pipe as a way to transport gasAs early as 2500 BC, Chinese used bamboo pipe as a way to transport natural gas to light Peking, their capital. Rome and Persia created aqueducts to bring water to city centers for bathing, washing and drinking.Furthermore, pipe (or tubing) is made with many different materials and methods. Hollowed stone, fired clay, bamboo, palm, redwood, lead, bronze, copper, and rubber are just some of the materials that makeup tubing.In the mid-1800’s the modern steel industry was bolstered with the Bessemer process. The Bessemer process represented the first inexpensive method for mass production of steel pipe. Subsequently, seamless tube was born in 1895. Quickly followed by manufacturing of auto, bicycle, and machinery for oil production which began in full force.

Four different welding processes are typically used for making tube. Since there is no filler metal in these welds, the welds are at least as strong as the parent metals.High Frequency (HF) Welding. Today, most mild steel and aluminum tube is welded with HF welders, which are also suitable for 400 series stainless and even 300 series if the tubing is for decorative use.Nearly 95 percent of the HF welders sold are solid-state, using transistors to generate the alternating frequency current. Research has been undertaken to weld products less than 1/4 inch in diameter and to extend the ability of the welder to produce a pressure-quality weld on 300 stainless steel at high line speeds.

The production process of general seamless steel pipes(smls pipe) can be divided into two types: cold-drawn and hot-rolled. The production process of cold-rolled seamless steel pipes is generally more complicated than that of hot rolling. In the sizing test, if the surface does not respond to cracks, the pipe must be cut by a cutting machine and cut into a blank of about one meter in length. Then enter the annealing process. Annealing needs to be pickled with acidic liquid. When pickling, pay attention to whether there is a lot of blistering on the surface. If there is a lot of blistering, it means that the quality of the steel pipe does not meet the corresponding standards. In appearance, cold-rolled seamless steel pipes are shorter than hot-rolled seamless steel pipes. The wall thickness of cold-rolled seamless steel pipes is generally smaller than that of hot-rolled seamless steel pipes, but the surface looks brighter than thick-walled seamless steel pipes. Much rough, without too many burrs.

Floating/Drawing process of pulling a metal bar, rod, or wire through the whole of a die to alter its finish, shape, size, and/or mechanical properties. The tube drawing technique reduces the outer diameter, inner diameter, and wall thickness of the tube. The integrity of the surface of the tube is maintained, ideal for stainless steel tubes. 

In the nineteenth century, rolling mill technology was the only technique used to manufacture stainless tubes and pipes for industrial purpose. This rolling technique involved long procedures.  The rolled strips of sheet were formed into a circular cross section with the help of funnel rolls. The lap welding was then done on these rolled strips through the forge welding process.Thankfully with the advent of development and technology, various processes came into existence for the manufacturing of stainless tubes and pipes in India. Now-a-days, stainless steel pipes and tubes are manufactured with continuous tube mill using multitorch tungsten Inert gas. The filler metal or forge welding process is not used in this technique.

Steel pipes, also known as steel tubes, are hollow cylindrical constructions manufactured from steel, a strong and flexible material noted for its durability and resistance to corrosion. There are different kinds of steel pipes available, including seamless pipes and welded pipes. Seamless pipes are manufactured without any welding joints, while welded pipes are constructed by joining two pieces of steel using welding techniques.

Raw material begins in the form of hot extruded seamless pipe, which is then cold reduced and processed through tube reducers in a long, straight form. Cold reducing is the most effective manufacturing method for longer lengths of tubing. Rolled pipes are cut to the required lengths and cleaned to remove debris in preparation for heat treatment, which is applied to remove any stresses that could occur during the formation or welding process.Various heat treatments can be used for tubing manufacturing, particularly annealing – this improves the structure of the metal and makes it more ductile for use in applications.

ERW steel pipes means Electric Resistance Welded Pipes. ERW steel pipes and tubes are used. ERW steel pipes and tubes are used in various engineering purposes, fencing, scaffolding, line pipes etc. ERW steel pipes and tube are available in various qualities, wall thicknesses, and diameters of the finished pipes.

Since I recently learned how to weld, I’ve been experimenting with different methods of cutting metal. I typically use an angle grinder, but with so many different tools on the market I thought I would start experimenting with other options. Today I’m going to show you how I cut tube steel using my new Makita Portable Compact Band Saw.
